About Iain

Iain Morland, PhDIain Morland, PhD, is a composer and audio designer who has been writing and performing music since 1994. He has wide experience of creating inspirational soundtracks and innovative effects for websites and multimedia projects.

Salyris Studios and Iain have been working together since 2005 on multiple projects, and we both decided to showcase his talents as well as make him a full-time member of the Salyris team! Combining cutting-edge sound design tools with traditional musical talent, Iain provides comprehensive sound design services, ranging from custom music in any style to sound restoration and even voice acting.

His audio design credits include the shows Proper Shopper and Baa Baa Boys at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and London’s Etcetera Theatre, and the independent films Driving Through Snow and Out Loud. He has recently begun a collaboration with sample library developers Precisionsound to create custom interfaces and performance controls for software instruments. Iain contributed music to The D’ni History Puzzle computer game.

The track Skyward, from The D’ni History Puzzle, is available in the free music downloads area.

Also an accomplished pianist and songwriter, he has released a CD of original pop songs with Maddie Cole, Craft, Design and Technology. These are now available in a remastered, compression-free format for professional use in the Salyris online shop.

This is the climax of the album, where all the different elements come together and reach fulfillment. I felt a tangible sense of hope and completion - it's a great track to put on repeat and stay in warrior pose while doing yoga. There's power in the music.
